UMC Arts Center: Master Dance Instructor

ADDIE DIAZ Addie was trained to be a professional Mambo dancer at 25. She had the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. and abroad to perform and teach dance workshops. Addie is a Worldwide pioneer for her Mambo Ladies Styling and New York style of dancing. She formed her own dance company as Director & Choreographer in 1998. Her family moved to Westchester County, NY where she teaches weekly classes, she's a volunteer staff instructor at Side Street Kids Academy and also teaches kids dance residencies in Public Schools and Community sites throughout Westchester. She focuses on strong fundamentals for the students. Addie very much enjoys watching her students growth in dance. And then seeing them have a good time w/ their own development is the most rewarding accomplishment of all!

ARTIE YTHIER Artie started out as an On1 Salsa street dancer. Being a Salsa fanatic he attended every nightclub and outdoor event he heard about! He crossed over to formal On2 dance training at David Melendez's Starlite Dance Studio. In 1992 he began teaching kids & teen classes where he choreographed numbers for their student recitals. He eventually moved on to working with Adult students for the last 8 years. Artie's fun personality adds an excitement to his class that everyone loves. Students enjoy a high energy and creative lesson mixed w/ a great time overall. Get ready for an awesome workout from a true pro!

DUPLESSEY-MONIC WALKER: Duplessey-Monic Walker is a Pace University graduate with a Masters Degree in Psychology , a TESOL certified English teacher and attended Mercy college, pursuing her second Masters in School Psychology. Duplessey's Latin dance career began in 1986 and her dance experience spans over three decades. Trained in ballet, jazz, modern, latin and social ballroom dance, Duplessey has performed internationally and nationally in venues like Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden and in the 1996 Olympics with Wynton Marsalis, to name a few. As dance partner and niece to New York's Mambo King Eddie Torres, Duplessey is incredibly grateful and thrilled to carry on her family legacy, spreading the love of Latin Music and Dance worldwide!

UMC Arts Center: Assitstant Dance Instructor

INEZ VEGA: Inez began her Mambo training with Addie Diaz in 1998. she moved on to Marisol & Mario Diaz's Student team performing twice on Stage. She also performed with Elenor Lopez's class at her studio "Salsa Night" in 2003. More recently Inez performed several shows in 2009 w/ Addie Diaz's Student group while playing the role of the "Team Captain". Giving her the opportunity to work w/ the dancers on cleaning up the choreography, styling details and stage presence. Since 2008 Inez trained w/ Addie as an Assistant Instructor and currently works with her teaching 3 days a week Westchester County. What students appreciate the most about Inez is that she has acquired Addie's teaching technique which complements each others styles. Her passion as an Instructor and for dancing is very apparent when you see her in action.
