Addie Diaz
and the members of her Addie-Tude Dance Company
performed their Cha-Cha Zoot Suit "Shinning Knight" routine at Joe
Burgos's Piel Canela Dance Social (held at the Dance New York Dance Studio). The
number was originally a part one of Addie's earlier
dance
numbers (The Medley). Shinning Knight
started to take a life of its own as a separate number during
Latin Madness. By the time
Latin Madness III came around, the
"Shinning Knight" had evolved into a full fledged dance
number. Today the number is performed by both Male and Female company members
and is yet another signature routine for Addie who's trademark in the
past has been coming up with different and unique dance choreographies (as
can be seen with her Knife Fighting
number "Hustler" and her Toy
Soldier number "Muneca"). This time around she made sure that
there was a lot of "tough-guy" styling and attitude in her choreography. The
Piel Canela Social was the first time that the number was performed outside of
the Latin Madness Arena.
