Latin Madness II

Addie Diaz and several members of her Addie-tude Dance Company returned as cast members for the 2nd run of the Off-Broadway Mambo Musical "LATIN MADNESS" (this past October). Addie (like the rest of the country) was still recovering from the after-shock of 9/11. But as they say in show business the show must go on. So she used the show as an excuse to temporarily escape reality. For her and the rest of the cast, there existed nothing else outside the theatre except for LATIN MADNESS. Here she shares some of the "MADNESS" that went on backstage during the show.

Hair & Make-up Madness
Each night before each show, members of the cast went through the ritual of getting their hair and make-up done

Here Addie's son,
Devin (Addie-tude Junior Member & Side Street Kid) and
fellow company member
Gina Cancetty wait their turn on the make-up line.

Here Gina goes through the works (hair and make-up) in preparation
for the Jai & Candy number she performed in.

Addie (in rollers!) for the opening mambo class scene of Latin Madness. She played a stereo-typical housewife/mother rushing to class pushing a baby carriage.

Addie performed in several different numbers throughout the show which required her to make periodic stops in the hair & make-up area to change her "look" to match each new number.

Palladium Days

Addie played the part of Legendary Palladium mambo dancer, Millie Donay (left). Later she grabs a quick second with fellow cast member Erika Herrera (Abakua Dancers) before running up to stage for the Palladium number

Youngest Latin Madness Cast Member

Devin Flores (Addie Diaz-Siverio & Nelson Flores's son) was the youngest cast member of Latin Madness. He appeared in the opening class scene of the show and was carted off at the end of the scene. Devin would watch each and every show backstage from beginner to end, never once moving or getting bored. He would prepare for each show by going through make up, then made sure that he had a "costume" to change into (which he was responsible to fold and hang up for by himself). What can we say, the kid's got show business in his blood

Shinning Knight

Shinning Knight was one of three numbers which Addie Choreographed that appeared in Latin Madness. It was a number she had originally put together for the men in her dance company. This time around, she got to do it herself and made it an all-girl number. There's something really nice about seeing beautiful women dressed up as tough guys.

The girls take a moment after their performance to get into "tough" character backstage near the make-up area.

Juan Matos (Santo Rico Dance Co.) poses in drag after performing the number Love for Sale, (also choreographed by Addie).

Side Street
The opening act of the Second half was the Side Street scene. During intermission (before the Side Street Scene) cast members had a few minutes backstage to pose and share some laughs before they curtain went back up. People could be seen joking, reviewing choreography backstage or taking the time to shoot some pictures.

With Ray Sepulveda

Ray Sepulveda takes a second to pose with
Addie and Devin during the 1st half of the show, then later during the 2nd half, Ray takes the time to pose with Manny Siverio right before he had to go on stage to perform the new version of "The Hustler' number. Ray is a real gentleman. He was so happy to be a part of this event and has a true respect for dancers and their talent. He was a pleasure to work with.

Latin Madness After Party

Everyone let loose over at "Side Street" during the LATIN MADNESS cast After-Party. If was a fun time full of laughter and dancing. Addie sharing a moment with Toni Mendoza (Side Street Kids) and Cindy Carrion (Santo Rico Dancers).
